The sixth edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World (22-28 November) was presented on Thursday 18 November at the Foreign Ministry’s Farnesina Palace headquarters in Rome, in the presence of Luigi Di Maio, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Gian Marco Centinaio, Undersecretary for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies; and Manlio Di Stefan, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs. This edition’s theme is “Tradition and perspectives relating to Italian cuisine: awareness and stewardship of food sustainability”.
The speakers emphasised the importance of our cuisine’s cultural facets and the necessity to promote awareness of its multi-millenarian history and its traditions, particularly through our international agricultural and food representatives, to disseminate it and transmit its values.
The Academy was represented by Elisabetta Cocito, a member of the Franco Marenghi Study Centre, who gave away several copies of the Academy’s History of Italian Cuisine in Comics, appreciated for its contents and graphics but especially its intentions regarding youth, perfectly aligned with the theme and mission of International Italian Food Week.
