The school lunch is considered not only a moment set aside for food, but also a fundamentally important institution from both educational and healt perspectives. The directives issued by Italy's regional governments allow individual schools to identify means of ensuring necessary social distancing during meals. Unfortunately, however, the implementation of norms to halt contagion is hindered by reality: only approximately 30% of schools have dedicated refectories.
