On 26 November, MASAF (the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests) and the Italian Academy of Cuisine entered into a Memorandum of Understanding at the Ministry’s headquarters. It was signed by Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida and the Academy’s President Paolo Petroni.
Noting the importance of the Academy’s and President Petroni’s work, Minister Lollobrigida officially delivered the plaque denoting Italian cuisine’s candidacy for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status as a promoter and supporter.
President Petroni illustrated the Academy’s history by giving the Minister two volumes: 1953-2023: Origins, Evolution, Future which recounts the Academy’s history, and History of Italian Cuisine in Comics which aims to familiarise a younger public with Italian food culture.
Through this Memorandum, the Academy and the Ministry are committing themselves even more as champions of Italian culinary traditions in all their abundant variety, and of Italy’s excellent agricultural and food products.
Participants included Secretary-General Roberto Ariani and Anna Maria Nastri, MASAF’s Head of International Relations.
