The 5th Week of Italian Cuisine in the World was launched on Monday the 23rd of November at 5:30 PM with the event “Lore and flavours from the lands of Italy, 200 years after Pellegrino Artusi’s birth” (“Saperi e Sapori delle terre italiane, a 200 anni dalla nascita di Pellegrino Artusi”) organised by the Italian Foreign Ministry. Speakers at the event, introduced by the Ministry’s Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, Lorenzo Angeloni, included Agricultural and Forestry Policy Minister Teresa Bellanova; Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Manlio Di Stefano; Casa Artusi President Laila Tentoni; the nutritionist Luca Piretta, a lecturer at the Rome Biomedical Campus University; and Nicola Cesare Baldrighi, President of Origin Italia. The virtual event was streamed on the Foreign Ministry’s youtube channel.
