The Academy in Manila

The Academy has now also made landfall in the Philippines, thanks to the Manila Legation led by Andrea Marino Albani - son of another Albani, a San Marino Academician - assisted by the new Academician Donatello Montrone. Our presence in the Philippines, whose jurisdiction includes Luzon island, containing the capital, Manila, with its entire metropolitan area, and the central region with the Visayas archipelago, was established thanks to the efforts of the San Marino Delegate, Andrea Negri. The new Legate, Albani, is a business consultant for the internationalisation of Italian companies and ‘Made in Italy’ products, while Academician Montrone is the business director of a tech firm operating in south-east Asia. This is an important new branch furthering the Academy’s mission of protecting and championing authentic Italian cuisine abroad.
